A total of 1,680 one-day old female yellow feather chicks were received from Guangdong Wen’s group and the trail was conducted at the Animal Research House of the Collage of Animal Science, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou for 26 days. The birds were weight and randomly divided into three groups with ten replicates of 56 birds each. Ampter? (antimicrobial peptides: AMPs) kindly received from Shenzhen Sunsmile Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
Diets and Treatments
Experimental diets were based on corn-soybean meal-corn gluten meal-wheat flour and the formula was meet to the nutrient requirements set by the National Research Council at 20.50% CP and 2900 kcal kg-1 diet. Feed and water were served ad-libitum. Feed ingredient experimental diets were chemically analyzed for proximate composition according to the standard procedures cited by AOAC. There were three treatments; control treatment (group A) birds were fed on basal diet without supplemented, antibiotic treatment (group B) birds were fed on basal diet supplement by 10% collistin 200 mg/kg + 4% enramycin 150 mg/kg and Ampter? treatment (group C) birds were fed with AMPs 200 mg/kg, respectively.
Thanks to Ampter?, starter broilers achieve better health status. A broiler trail was conducted in the South China Agricultural University for 42 days, compared with no supplement (control) and antibiotic. Ampter? group had a significant higher ADG at 26 days and mathematically better FCR.
Feed supplementation with AMPs has been shown to improve survival rate of starter broiler by stimulating animal health status and control pathogenic bacteria in animal gut, through the antimicrobial peptides such as IsCT, Clavanin H and Plant defensins. This recovers broiler immune and productive function while improving animal performance. Supplementation with Sunsmile’s AMPs leads to get more profit.
